About Our Stainless Steel
For residential applications, stainless steel is commonly available in grades such as 304 and 316. Grade 304 stainless steel is widely used because it provides excellent corrosion resistance, durability and ease of manufacture.
The 18/10 composition refers to approximately 18% chromium and 10% nickel. The chromium helps form a protective surface layer that resists corrosion, while the nickel improves durability and contributes to the appearance of the stainless steel.
This drainer mat also features a fingerprint-resistant coating designed to reduce visible fingerprints, smudges and everyday marks.
Day-to-Day Care
After use, rinse the drainer mat with clean water and wipe it with a soft cloth. Drying the surface after cleaning will help prevent water spots and mineral deposits, particularly in areas with hard water.
For best results, clean the mat regularly using warm water and a mild dishwashing detergent.
Cleaning Aids
Use only soft cloths, non-abrasive sponges and mild cleaning products.
Avoid using stainless steel polishes, abrasive powders or strong chemical cleaners, as these may affect the fingerprint-resistant coating.
A diluted mixture of vinegar and water may be used carefully to remove mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry immediately after cleaning.
What to Avoid
Abrasive Cleaning Products
Do not use steel wool, metal scourers, abrasive pads or harsh cleaning powders. These products may scratch the stainless steel and damage the fingerprint-resistant coating.
Strong Chemicals
Avoid hydrochloric acid, chlorine-based cleaners, bleach, silver-dip cleaners and other strongly acidic or alkaline products. These may cause staining, corrosion or damage to the surface coating.
Sharp or Hard Objects
Take care when placing glass, ceramic, stone or metal objects on the mat. Hard or sharp items may scratch the stainless steel surface or damage the coating.
Surface Marks or Discolouration
Apparent rust marks may sometimes be caused by iron particles transferred from other metal objects rather than corrosion of the stainless steel itself.
Clean any marks promptly using warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. Do not use metal polish or abrasive rust-removal products on the fingerprint-resistant coating unless specifically approved for coated stainless steel surfaces.
